Window cleaning doesn't need to be complicated. When I was a kid my mom simply used vinegar mixed 1 to1 with tap water and old newspapers to clean all our windows and mirrors. She had an old Windex bottle that she kept filling with white vinegar and water. I swear we had the same Windex bottle for the whole time I lived with my parents (18 years!). Vinegar cuts any grease that has accumulated on the glass and the newspaper does a great job of wipping it all up. Since the newspaper was going to be trash or compost anyway she used that instead of buying paper towels. We've stepped up this recipe a notch by using distilled water so that your sprayer is less likely to get clogged and we've added some essential oils to help offset the vinegar smell (but honestly I kinda like the vinegar smell cause it reminds me of clean windows in the '80's.
Ingredients: distilled water, white vinegar 5%, essential oils of eucalyptus, litsea cubeba and rosemary.
